What Data We Collect and Why

We collect personal data in two ways:

1. When homeowners submit an enquiry

When you fill in the quote request form, we collect:

• Full name
• Phone number
• Email address
• Postcode
• Type of tree surgery required
• Description of the job
• How urgently the work is needed

Why we collect this: To forward your enquiry to local tree surgeons who can quote for your job. This is the entire purpose of the service.

Legal basis: Your consent, given by ticking the GDPR checkbox on the form before submitting.

2. When tree surgeons register

When a tree surgeon signs up to receive leads, we collect:

• Name and business name
• Phone number and email address
• Postcode areas covered

Why we collect this: To set up their account, route relevant leads to them, and manage the subscription.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (providing the service they have signed up for) and contract performance.

3. Contact form messages

If you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message, solely to respond to your enquiry.

Who Your Data Is Shared With

If you are a homeowner submitting an enquiry:

• Your contact details and job description are shared with up to 5 local tree surgeons who subscribe to our platform and cover your postcode area.
• This sharing is the core purpose of the service and is what you consent to when you tick the form checkbox.
• We do not sell your data to any third parties.
• We do not add you to marketing mailing lists.
• We do not share your data with anyone outside of the tree surgery matching process.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Make.com - our automation platform that routes enquiry data from the website to tree surgeons. Data passes through their servers. Make.com is GDPR compliant. See their privacy policy at make.com.
• Netlify - our website hosting provider. They store the website files and handle web traffic. See netlify.com for their privacy policy.
• Stripe - used for payment processing for subscribing tree surgeons. We do not store card details ourselves. See stripe.com for their privacy policy.

No Data Stored on This Website

This website has no database and does not store personal data on the server. When you submit the enquiry form, your details are passed immediately to our automation system (Make.com) and forwarded to the relevant tree surgeons. The website itself does not retain your information.

How Long We Keep Your Data

• Homeowner enquiries: Forwarded to tree surgeons immediately. Copies may be held in our email system for up to 90 days, then deleted.
• Tree surgeon accounts: Retained for as long as the subscription is active, plus 12 months after cancellation for accounting and dispute purposes.
• Contact form messages: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.

Cookies

This website uses a single functional cookie to remember your cookie consent preference. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies by default.

The cookie we set is:

• ttl_cookie_consent - stores whether you have accepted or declined cookies. Expires after 1 year (or 30 days if declined).

If we add analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
